National Honor Society
Founded in 1974, the NHS is the only internationally honorary society specifically for finance students. NHS recognizes scholastic achievement through induction of students who have demonstrated superior scholarship. Individuals accepted for membership in the Honor Society have the distinction of belonging to the only international honorary society which specifically recognizes the achievement of finance majors and demonstrates their expertise in areas such as financial economics and decision making.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the FMA National Honor Society, students must have a minimum 3.50 overall GPA AND must have successfully completed six (6) hours of finance courses. If a student is deemed eligible, the NIU Department of Finance will pay for a one year NHS membership. To join, please print the FMA International Application, select the One Year National Honor Society Membership, and submit the application to an FMA Board Member or the Department of Finance, BH 236.
